Hello Girls.
Yoona is busy this evening, so I'll be posting results.
*ahem*
Welcome to your Sixth Judging Session
This week you were asked to find an action photo. Some of you went with a traditional guns-a-blazin' action, some of you went with generic actions.
Let's start our judging session
Team Amanda
Karen: I definitely get the feeling of action in this photo, and that's the only reason why I'm not feeling squirrelly about the blurrier elements of the hair and dress. It's a lively pose, but I wish we could see more of your face. It's interesting, and the pose is pretty unique, so well done.
Yoona: yup i agree with Karen. I think it is an okay photo. The styling is great. I can feel the action in the photo. I see that you were having fun with this photoshoot
Naomi
Karen: Darnit, Naomi, I thought I critiqued this this morning, but I guess my computer ate it. Anywho, I feel like the posing's a bit awkward, and I think that the relatively small size of you is a bit unforunate, even more so because the photo is black and white. It's a cute photo, though, and it definitely conveys a strong sense of mischief, and the shoes are pretty fantastic.
Yoona: The good thing in this photo is you look like a model. I see a little action here and there. I didn't really like the styling. Too gloomy for me. I think this would look better in black & white
Team Brody
Ashley
Amanda: I thought I warned you about those glasses. They obscure your eyes, which are one of your best features. If I am not mistaken, this is also from the same shoot as the one of you laying on the car. That also loses originality points.
Although the pose is awkward, I do find this kind of cute. The action is picking up that skirt and I find it very model-like. I don't absolutely love it and there are a few major issues with it, but it is good enough for your ex-mentor.
Karen: To be honest, if Amanda hadn't said that the action was picking up the skirt, I wouldn't have figured that out at all. I do agree that using a picture from a previous photoshoot is a major no-no, especially when coupled with the glasses. I'm iffy.
Yoona: Ash, i think you made a mistake here. It's an amazing photo but the action here is so week. You have the potential and i hope you able to survive this week
Jessica
Karen: Hmm. I definitely like the way that you've altered this photo. It gives a great actiony feel, and it doesn't feel cheesy and forced like a lot of action shots tend to. We've got accessories, we've got a strong facial expression, we've got a good outfit and hair that's to die for. I think this might be your strongest shot yet.
Yoona: the action is there but i think you can work more on your face. You need to inject some intensity in your face. Other than that i think it is a good photo
Amanda: I wish we could see more of your body here. We don't really get to see enough of you! Despite that, the lighting and styling are great and this is a very strong shot. It isn't the greatest ever but this is one of your best. Great work!
Team Diego
Lindsey
Karen: This is a really interesting shot. Right off the bat, though, I feel like the attention is almost directed more to the gun than to you, and that's a bit dicey. The hair and the facial expression are absolutely stunning, though, and the outfit is superb. It'd be nice to have this photo in color, but the black and white add a pretty good quality to it, so I'm not terribly concerned. Overall, fantastic job!
Yoona: When i see your samPles, there's a photo that really capture my eyes. I think it is very dark, provocative & there's an interesting story behind it. Thank God that you were choosing that photo
Amanda: Um this is marvelous! I, uh, really like your hair and, uh, the black and white actually does you things. Er... favors, I mean. Your outfit is sexy and, uh, could you stop waving that thing in my face? For Christ's sake, I'm trying to judge here!
Megan
Amanda: Didn't we already have the discussion about resizing images? This is HUGE! I want to be able to see the whole thing at once, and with this I can't.
You have one SEXY body here. This pose is amazing. However, I don't really like how the shadows fall over your face and that you have your eyes closed, looking down. I want to see your eyes! I want to see your face! I can remember your body, but this is art. Emotion is everything, and here you've sort of hidden your sadness. I don't really love it because of that - you're not focusing on the right things, and that sort of robs this photo of being memorable. Sorry.
Karen: Holy marginbreak, Batman!
Anyway, as well as this picture being ginormous, I really don't get that much of an action vibe from it. If I didn't know that this picture was from Transformers I wouldn't see any action in it at all. That being said, the pose is sexy as all hell, the hair is delightful, and the facial expression is also pretty decent even with the shadows.
Yoona: This is more to sexy than action but i can relate to this photo. For a girl in this kinda situation, it's quite adventurous. You look very comfortable here and the setting of this photo really do help you a lot
Team Karen
Michelle
Yoona: This is an action photo for me. I see the intense and drama in this photo. My only problem is you don't look like a model here. You look like an ordinary girl ran from her abusing husband
Amanda: I am with Yoona. This is plain. It fits the theme well but it doesn't really strike me in any fashion. We want something memorable, and this seems so everyday. I think you should be fine though!
Sayumi
Yoona: I think you're getting better week by week. I think this would be a fantastic photo for FFF theme two weeks ago. But i still love this photo for action. I see another side of Sayumi that i never see before. Love it so much
Amanda: Am I the only one who thinks those jumping shots are stupid? I see them on Facebook all the time of people on vacation and I am wondering what people in other countries think of America's sanity. Though you are Japanese...
I don't see this as model, really. I also see it as boring and strange. I think it all boils down to personal preference and in this week's shot it is hard to please all of us. As much as this irks me, it fits the theme and should be enough to keep you around.
Yoona is busy this evening, so I'll be posting results.
